Some local students made a short documentary about the 55 MPH speed limit on most of the highways around here. Five of them got in their cars and they drove side by side on the perimeter (the ATL "autobahn"), completely blocking the other highway drivers. The funny part is that they all went the exact speed limit of 55 MPH. Oh the commotion! Cars were passing them on the shoulder, people were honking and screaming at them... Scary shit. And funny, too. You can see the movie here.
If you've ever been unlucky enough to drive on one our lovely highways then you know that these guys have a death wish.
...that reminds me. I still need to pay my speeding ticket from last month. Bastards.

That's really cool - Jaime told me about it. She said that when the guy who organized it was interviewed on the news, he talked about how keeping the speed limit 55 was a revenue generator for the areas that 285 travels through.
It was a little nerve-wracking to be back on the Autobahn for the first time in nearly a year and in my dad's big truck, too!

I like how they referred to it as "an act of civil obedience". Haha.
I remember my first drive on 285. Definitely a learning experience.
For some reason, I do better on 285 then I do on I-20. That highway scares the crap outta me.
