We have yet to figure out just what the hell was going on
early Monday morning. We awoke at 3:45 AM (!) to the loud thumping sound of a low-flying helicopter, and various lights shining around our window. Ken lept out of bed to check things out, while I rubbed my eyes and asked if we were being invaded. I eventually put my clothes on and stood outside to watch the noisy-ass helicopter hover over our house....just our house... for a good hour or so. Two houses down were two cop cars, but I couldn't tell what they were doing. Eventually the helicopter moved on. Hmm. I smell a
conspiracy. Or maybe just a basement meth lab down the street.
In other news, I am in love with my newest garage sale find. I bought a like-new
rice cooker for four bucks. This thing kicks so much ass. It has a steamer basket for veggies on top, while the rice cooks on the bottom. Tonight while the rice was cooking, I tossed in some zucchini, yellow squash, carrots, and kale- and in ten minutes we had a whole meal! Whoo! It's easy to clean, too. I think I will sleep with it tonight, I love it so much. We might need a bigger bed though, since I already sleep with my sweet husband, our cat Moe, and my other
favorite kitchen appliance.
What else? Eh, I'm liking my job less and less as the days go by. But I know my days are numbered there, so I need to make the best of it, I suppose. I just have to figure out how to stay awake while I'm there. Whatever. It's paying my car payment, so that's good.
I have a million things to do, so I better get to it.
