I've made a few tasty things this past week, my favorite being a vegan cheeseburger pizza:

The picture kinda looks like a big ol' pile of shit, but I assure you that it was not. It was crazy delicious. I first heard of this concoction in La Dolce Vegan, but I didn't exactly follow that recipe. It's pretty close, though. Here's what it is:
Regular pizza dough.
The sauce is plain tomato sauce mixed half & half with ketchup. (Yes, ketchup. Think cheeseburger, not pizza.)
Topped with shredded Vegan Gourmet Monterey Jack (should have been cheddar, but it's what I had).
Pickles!
Mustard!
Tomatoes!
Vegan ground "beef", pre browned.
Baked to a yummy perfection.
I really missed onions on this, though. I had two big onions ready in the vegetable bowl, and they were both rotten in the middle. Bah!! Onions and garlic make it into almost everything we eat besides sweet stuff, so my lack of onions has been hard to get used to. But anyway, this was one good cheeseburger pizza. Next time I will be sure to have some shredded lettuce on hand to top it with after baking.
Next up is Susan's Peach Upside Down Cake that everyone has been making lately.

As you can see, mine is shown still in the pan. This is because I didn't know that my cast iron pan was too big for the recipe, so I didn't have enough batter to completely cover the topping. But I baked it anyway, and scooped it out cobbler-style. We had it with vanilla non-dairy ice cream, of course. This was a very pleasant cake considering it didn't have chocolate or (much) fat in it. I probably won't make it again because peeling peaches sucks so very, very much. Lolo made it look so easy. Ha. My peaches were evil peaches. They put up a good fight.
And another round of french toast:

Yeah, we have french toast a lot. But it's a good way to get rid of stale bread, or in this case crappy bread. We bought a different brand of bread that we hated, but it was fine as french toast. Which once again proves my theory that anything can taste good when battered and fried. And look at those berries! That's the only reason why I tolerate summer, for the berries. Otherwise summer can move along anytime now.

"Which once again proves my theory that anything can taste good when battered and fried." - totally with you there!
Awwww, Moe is so handsome and dignified. I've been wanting to do pizza dough, do you make yours?
Moe is handsome, isn't he? He needs an ascot, though.
Yeah, I do make my own dough sometimes. But when I'm not feeling patient with all the rising and such, I will just buy a dough ball from Harry's or Trader Joe's.
Wow so many great looking dishes! And your cat is uber cute!
Thanks, Carolann! :)
