caaaake.

Cake is good. I recently picked up a copy of Have Your Cake and Vegan Too, and the first recipe I have tried so far is the Snickerdoodle Cake. Not chocolate, I know. I must have a fever. But I do love cinnamon too, and this cake came out very nice. Vanilla buttercream for the frosting, and topped with cinnamon and "sugar in the raw". I added a layer of Biscoff spread between the layers, and decorated with Biscoff cookies. Ain't nothing wrong with that.

Have Your Cake and Vegan Too looks like it's going to be a fun, fatty time. There's even a chapter on crock pot cakes!

baking, breathing.

I signed up to participate in the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale again this year, despite the fact that I have no time for baking lately with all the baby-wearing and bottle washing. Oh,and laundry. So much laundry! But that's all for the baby blog. Here are the goods I baked for the sale, which in total raised over $1500 for Japan relief efforts!

I baked way less than I wanted to, but at least I was able to do something. The thought of a vegan bake sale happening in my city without being able to participate makes me a sad girl. There were many great bakers pitching in this year, it was amazing.

I will get back to the good stuff soon. Once my meals go back to normal, rather than just eating peanut butter with a spoon for lunch. I do plan on baking a cake for Easter, though. Something lovely from Kris' new book Have Your Cake and Vegan Too!
